The 10th ESA Conference
At the 10th conference of the European Sociological Association in Geneva in 2011, we have had more than 100 presentations and distributed papers in 23 sessions that focus on empirical, theoretical and conceptual aspects
of research on ageing. We would like to thank all the participants, contributers, chairs and organizers!
At the business meeting of the Research Network on Ageing in Europe a board has been established:
Harald Künemund (Chair; University of Vechta, Germany),
Ricca Edmondson (Vice-chair; National University of Ireland, Galway, Ireland),
Kathrin Komp (Vice-chair; Umeå University, Sweden),
Albert Banerjee (York University, Toronto, Canada).
Alexandra Lopes (Porto University, Portugal),
Magnus Nilsson (Karlstad University, Sweden),
Jenni Spännäri (University of Helsinki, Finland),
and Bernhard Weicht (Utrecht University, the Netherlands). Ricca Edmonson was also elected to the Committee of the ESA. We look forward to organize a third PhD-Workshop in Portugal as well as a midterm conference in Sweden next year.
